See our terms and conditions for more information and specified pest guarantees (i.e. Termites).
Is the Treatment safe for my family?
We only use the safest, latest and fully tested products available. The treatments are also used in hospitals, schools, child care centers, food manufacturing and many other sensitive situations and are environmentally safe. Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) are available on request.
What about my pets?
Sometimes pests can disturb the operation or try to lick the chemicals being sprayed, hence it may be a good idea to keep your pet away for a few hrs till the treatment is done and chemicals are dried properly. For certain pets we have to take extra care, so please mention all pets to your technician when he arrives and he can advise you on closing and sealing fish tanks, etc.
Do I have to leave my home when you perform services?
The utmost care is used in application and choice of pest control products. If it becomes necessary for you to be out of your home during a treatment, the treatment option will be explained to you by our technicians and it can be arranged in advance for your convenience.
Most treatments does not require you to leave your home. In the interests of being extra careful and for full peace of mind there may be certain situations when we ask you to vacate the house during treatment. For instance if very young children, someone who is pregnant, or allergy or asthma sufferers are present.
Why do I need a follow up treatment after 3 - 4 weeks?
Fleas, ticks, roaches, bed bugs etc. all have different life cycles than other targeted species. During certain phases of their life cycle they do not succumb to treatments. Insect eggs for instance, are resistant to pesticides. Even though we serviced your home, most of the eggs that pests have already laid will hatch in future months. For each species we have different intervals of treatments that we recommend to manage infestations.
How long after initial treatment does it take to see results?
For the most part results are rapid and long-lasting, but depending on the Pest Control strategy employed, times can vary. Your on-going service agreement will ensure that pests are not only controlled, but prevented and kept out of your home.
Why should you treat my home and garden if the problem is inside?
Most pests live and breed outside your home. As part of our Pest Management system we want to control activity where it originates and prevent them from getting inside.
What do I need to prepare before a treatment?
Any preparations can be discussed with our pest control expert on site, each treatment calls for different provisions, but basic preparations include:
Clear all the areas that need treatment
De-clutter and make sure the technician will have access to areas he needs to treat
Cover food and drinking water
Store any open food (for example rise or flour) in sealable containers
Why do I see more pets after a treatment?
It’s not unusual for pests to move around after a treatment. For example ant and cockroach gels or baits are designed to encourage movement towards the baits.
Keep in mind that most pests like to hang out in cracks and crevices around your home and you don’t usually see them. So right after a Expert pest control treatment you may see allot more bugs than before… The sheltering pests will come scrambling out of sheltering areas as they try to escape the product application.
If you are seeing bugs within the first ten days after treatment, that’s completely normal, however, if you continue to see the bugs after ten days, feel free to give us a call.
Who cleans up after a pest control treatment?
Should you require help cleaning up after a treatment you can request a quote for cleaning. It’s not included in a pest control treatment, but we do have cleaning crews we can book for you.
Why do I get ants inside when it rains?
When it rains, ants that live on the ground surface or underground are at risk of drowning. Therefore, the workers pick up eggs and other immature ants and seek out shelter in a dry place. Sometimes, that just happens to be your home.
How often should I have an inspection to check for pests?
Generally a yearly inspection for termites and other pests is the best way to minimize pest infestations from developing. Depending on the type of pest and environment more regular treatments may be required.
How much does it cost to get rid of a pest problem?
This will vary greatly depending on the type of pest and the level of infestation. Most pest control companies will give you a price for a standard pest treatment but make sure you understand exactly what you are getting for that price. A good pest controller will explain this for you.
What types of treatments are used?
Treatment is a general term use to simply describe the many methods and options available to a licensed pest controller. Options include gels, pastes, baits, granules, dusts, mist sprays or water based liquid sprays. The type of application used is determined by the type of pest, infestation severity and the access to the problem area. In some situations more than one type of treatment may be required.
Why is Quarterly Pest Control recommended?
To get rid of annoying pests and keep them out of your home, a regular service is necessary. Each season brings specific bugs, so a regular service is also necessary to break the egg and nesting patterns of the insects. . A recurring service plan provides you with year-round protection from pests as well as those migrating over from your neighbor's property.
Why should I continue on a Quarterly program when I no longer see pests?
Routine Pest Control Service is like servicing your car, if you don't keep up the routine maintenance then the car will breakdown and eventually you will have problems.
Pest activity is exactly the same way. Our programs are designed to give your home routine maintenance to manage your pest issues and to prevent problems before they happen. Our warm climate keeps pests active all year round.
What happens if the bugs come back?
Annoying pests are always trying to find their way into my home to find food, shelter, water or all three! When you sign up for our quarterly maintenance program our service is guaranteed. So when the bugs return, just give us a call. We return for free to spot treat any areas of the home that need a little extra attention.
Why should I have a termite inspection by a Pest Control Operator?
Detecting termites really is not easy if you don’t know what to look for, where to look and haven't had experience. Pest technicians are trained in termite detection and are experienced at inspecting many different types of homes. Too often with houses that have not had termite inspections, the first sign of termites is only after there is significant damage to cupboards, floorboards or even wall/ roof timbers.
What can I do to prevent an infestation?
There are many reasons why a pest infestation could occur, however, following these steps can help you prevent and control pest problems.
Clean likely hiding places, i.e. cracks, crevices in floors, baseboards and vents frequently
Keep all spaces around stoves, refrigerators and cabinets clean
Clean up food spills and crumbs completely and immediately
Do not leave unwashed dishes overnight in a sink or a cabinet
Keep food stored in tightly closed containers
Since dry dog or cat food may provide a picnic for cockroaches, rodents and ants, it is best to store it in a container with a lid and avoid putting out more food than the pet will eat
Inspect incoming grocery bags and soft drink containers for hidden insects and their eggs
Remove trash and garbage daily
Repair all dripping taps.
Seal off possible entryways for rats and mice (a mouse can get through an opening as small as 25mm wide)
Vacuum mattresses regularly to remove dust mites and their eggs
Do regular spring cleaning
